Tory Lanez has been denied new counsel after potential defense lawyer Ronda Renee Dixon accused his current reps of taking advantage of the singer/rapper. According to legal journalist Meghann Cuniff, Lanez wants Dixon to step in and work under Jose Baez, replacing Matthew Barhoma. Live from the courtroom on Wednesday (July 12), Cuniff tweeted out the judge’s decision and also shared a prior conversation between herself and Dixon. “These guys are just taking advantage of [Lanez],” Cuniff claims Dixon stated.
While most of London is quiet, Broadwater Farm is still burning for information concerning the death of Mark Duggan, the young father whose death in a police shooting sparked days of rioting across the UK. It was initially reported that the early August shooting death of the 29-year-old London man was because he fired at officers. But according to several eyewitness reports and ballistic evidence obtained by VIBE correspondant Rev. Osagyefo Sekou, who is currently investigating in London, Duggan did not brandish a weapon at the time he was shot.
Samantha Barbash has filed a federal lawsuit against Jennifer Lopez’s production company and others apart of the megahit Hustlers, with claims that her likeness was exploited in the film.
According to PEOPLE, Barbash’s suit includes Lopez’s production company Nuyorican Productions, STX Entertainment, Gloria Sanchez Productions and Pole Sisters LLC. Lawyer Bruno V. Gioffre Jr. claims filmmakers tried to “obtain a consent and waiver from Ms. Barbash for the production of the film and their ultimate portrayal” of her and failed after Barbash refused to sign over her life rights.
After a debut in summer 2020 that had social media in an uproar, STARZ’s hit drama, P-Valley has finally announced when it’s returning for season two. This June, Mercedes (Brandee Evans), Autumn (Elarica Johnson), Uncle Clifford (Nicco Annan), Diamond (Tyler Lepley), Miss Mississippi (Shannon Thornton), Lil Murda (J. Alphonse Nicholson), and crew will be headed back down to The Pynk.
