Talk show host Wendy Williams is under fire for comments she made pertaining to the sexual assault case against producer Dr. Luke by pop star Kesha. Williams said on a segment called “Inside Scoop” that Kesha should have filmed Dr. Luke in the act if he did in fact rape and sexually/ emotionally assault her, and that it was fair that the ruling did not go in her favor.

“Unfortunately business is business, and it sounds like it’s fair,” she said to Hollywood Life‘s Chloe Melas. “If everybody complained because somebody allegedly sexually abused them…contracts would be broken all the time…Kesha’s no spring chicken.”

“I feel like by the time Kesha works her way out of this mess, people will have forgotten about her. Her foot is not as strong in the music business to begin with [and] to sustain, you know, four more years of this.”

Twitter had a field day, slamming the host for her rude and unsupportive comments.

Wendy Williams is an absolute lunatic. Why didn’t Kesha FILM THE ABUSE AS PROOF? Who would even think like that?

Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke in 2014 for allegations that she was raped, drugged, emotionally abused and sexually assaulted by her longtime producer, and that the years of torment contributed to her eating disorder and rehab stint earlier that year.

Her case was dismissed in court on Friday (Feb. 19), locking Kesha in her six-album contract with Dr. Luke and Sony. She will be able to perform and make music with other producers and writers, but she argues that Dr. Luke and Sony will still be making money off of her music and not promoting her as they should. Celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Wale have rallied behind the “Tik Tok” singer amidst the court frenzy.
