VIBE: How would you describe your sound in three words?
WurlD: Soothing, Electrifying, Unpredictable

What is the overall sentiment you are hoping to express to listeners with your music?
Promoting love, peace, life, people and Unity through my music. Every song will take the listeners on a unique ride, leaving them with a desire for more.

What artists would you consider role models? Why?
James Brown, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and the list goes really long from here. In other words, I would say that I admire every and any artist that stand for something positive and use music as a tool to affect the world in a great light.

What is the best advice you have ever received in regards to music?
Staying true to my sound and what I stand for as an artist.

If you could collaborate with anyone in hip-hop right now who would it be?
Kanye West

You were born in West Africa, but have you lived there for any long periods? Does your heritage have much influence on your music?
My heritage has a huge influence on my music. At a really young age, I was exposed to a lot of African music by artists such as Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade and many more. As I grew older, I fell in love with R&B, hip-hop, pop, and dance music. My music is a fusion of the different genre of music I have been exposed to as a kid until now. I consider myself a student of the art of music “still learning”.
