Two days after being detained by the police, Ted Williams has agreed to enter a rehab center for his dependency on alcohol. The homeless man, who was swarmed by a media blitz over his golden voice, decided it was time to make a change during the taping of yesterdays episode of The Dr. Phil Show.

According to TMZ, a press release for the states that Ted “has been drinking daily, despite his adamant claims of sobriety.”

Evidently, the 53-year-old will need more assistance dealing with his dim past and the bright future he’s being presented through offers from Kraft and the Cleveland Cavaliers. His daughter Janey outed his problem after their Monday (Jan. 10) altercation.

“He has consumed at least a bottle of Grey Goose a night. That’s not including the Coronas he ordered, that’s not including the Budweisers he ordered, the other alcohol, the wines. He drinks heavily,” she said.

Dr. Phil McGraw hopes that now Ted can take responsibility for his issues.

“If Ted is ever going to get better, he’s got to be honest with himself and admit he’s addicted to drugs and alcohol.”
